Here’s what I’m thinking about too much these days:
I’d really like to get into some sort of creative writing practice, and am convinced that this AlphaSmart Neo typewriter is just the ticket for success (classic me, sure — but would you look at this thing?))
I grew up watching Saturday Night Live (and MADtv) so you best believe that listening to Molly Shannon read her memoir Hello, Molly! is an absolute delight — it’s funny and sad, surprising and inspiring. I’m an even bigger fan now.
Am thinking about becoming a matcha person, lol. I need a whisk — this one, from Bellocq, seems like a nice choice, and reasonably priced at that.
I’m late to the Facebook Marketplace game but am enjoying browsing. Locally, on offer: a wasp’s nest (for $150 of course), goose lamp, the most elegant cast iron coal stove I’ve seen in my entire life.
This lamp is the one that got away. (My intense obsession with AuctionNinja is a topic for another time.)
My partner got us a tape player for my most recent birthday, and we have been slowly adding to our cassette collection. Now, I have my eye on a few analog selections from SPINSTER, a record label co-founded by my pal Emily Hilliard.
It’s cold where I am. This sheepskin hot water bottle cover from Toast — in ecru or taupe! — is gorgeous and perfectly fuzzy.
I’m finally supporting folks whose work speaks to me on Patreon. Right now, I’m subscribed to Who? Weekly, Tara Deighton, Greedy Peasant, Kendra Gaylord, and Thread and Yarn. If you’re a patron, who are you supporting?
Thanks for reading! Anything speak to you? Got recommendations? Hit reply; I want to hear from you (and may feature your recommendation in an upcoming newsletter!)
