Hello again dear friends.
It’s been far too long since my last newsletter. It hasn’t felt quite right to do a shopping newsletter amid all the chaos and sadness in this cruel world. But, um, I really miss writing it — sharing beautiful things (and beautiful public domain imagery) with you likeminded individuals. It’s a silly little thing but it’s my silly little thing. So, without further ado, welcome back to my shopping newsletter.
Oh but actually, two quick things! First, I have a humble gift for you: a playlist of music somehow perfect for both cold/rainy spring and sunny almost-too-warm spring. Magic. And then! If you can believe it, I’m starting (yes) another sporadic newsletter. This newsletter will be dedicated entirely to craft in the broadest sense. I’ve been hungering for a more formal outlet to share my craft practice (the things I make and learn, inspiration, resources) — this is it. I plan to document the making of my wedding dress(!) and the development of knitting patterns, along with exploring learning new skills and methods and whatever else I find interesting in the moment. Please consider a subscription if this is at all of interest to you!
Alright, now… back to the shopping newsletter.
Here’s what I’ve been thinking about too much lately:
How bonkers are these sandals from St. Agni? I’ve had my eye on this Australian brand since they released a(nother lovely) flatform sandal that I was tempted to purchase but alas never did. Even on sale these are prohibitively pricey but a gal can dream about her platonic ideal of warm-weather architectural footwear, yes?
I like hair things (though I find myself not using them much) and I’m really into bright red right now. Here’s the perfect lil (sold out lol) thing.
I’m neither a weaver (yet) nor a bumper sticker applier (though I love them) so I bought this so that I will soon become both.
I recently took a (tbh? lifechanging) willow weaving course that required the use of clippers — instead of finding a pair I know I have kicking around somewhere, I headed to my local Gardener’s Supply Company to pick up this pair of Castellari *ergonomic* pruners. I obviously chose them because of the bright slip-resistant coating. After day one of class, I realized they needed a sheath. Enter: the most me pruner sheath to ever exist (also Castellari, because natch.)
Yes I want this. I’m not special.
I’m really interested in incorporating more color into my wardrobe, especially into my shoes. I’d snap up these (perennial favorite) FitFlop walking sandals in “Satsuma,” but the only size currently sold out just happens to be mine! Speaking of FitFlop, I do have my eye on these — so absurdly me I’m surprised I don’t already own them.
What’s your hand soap situation like at home? I’m always looking for new ideas. I’ve been buying Method refills but I only enjoy one of the scents, so I might be ready to move on. Forgive me — I want to be wowed during my handwashing experience. Please send your recommendations.
Thanks for reading! Anything speak to you? Got recommendations? Hit reply; I want to hear from you (and may feature your recommendation in an upcoming newsletter!)
I have been growing basket willow for the past couple years--I think it's established enough for weaving: teach me!!!
