Here’s what I’ve been thinking about too much lately:
Sometimes I get inspired to really try when it comes to skincare — which involves gambling on a bunch of new products. I haven’t been inspired to do that lately because I’ve quite enjoyed my experience with what I have been using: lots of Beauty of Joseon. I love this double cleansing duo and Ginseng Essence Water, in particular. I swear by their sunscreen, though I just learned that the formula you purchase on their website is made especially for the U.S., which is not nearly as nice as the non-U.S. formula.
As a superfan of all things British interior design (check the archives for proof, love) it’s no surprise that I love everything made by the brand House of Hackney. I’m literally planning to learn woodworking at some point so that I can make personal dupes of their castle-inspired furniture. The bookcase is amazing obviously but it’s the wardrobes I fell in love with — see it with glass doors and without. My home was built in the early 1800s, so creative solutions are required for clothing storage — and yes this is just the ticket. Oh but that’s not all! Their paint colors are making me consider a splurge — or at least a color match at my local hardware store. You know I’m a freak for green — this dark yellow/green/brown shade is everything to me. I also want to feature this decidedly vibrant shade on every wall in every room and also paint the exterior this color?! Should I??? (I honestly can’t even get into the wallpaper and fabric right now. That’s for another newsletter).
How amazing is this couch (excuse me, daybed)?
Our kitchen is very sweet but the lighting isn’t the most functional. I love the little-lamp-in-the-kitchen look and am ready to hop on board — I’m enjoying the Flowerpot VP9 lamp and think one of the bright colors would be just perfect for a counter whose light is blocked by the person preparing food there (lol). I’ve seen wild discrepancies in price for this piece — but this is the cheapest I’ve noticed with a decent number of color options still in stock (how amazing is the chrome-plated, too? Ahh!)
Faux bois anything is perfect to me — imagine this table in my potting shed (which doesn’t exist), holding just a perfect floral arrangement in a perfect little vase.
It’s high time to do a deep dive on the American interior designer Frances Adler Elkins, who is (amazingly!) a new name to me — inspired by seeing this selection of items attributed to her. I’m obsessed with the plaster shell lamps, particularly this pair. “Effervescent modernist fantasy,” indeed.
I can’t get enough of Toyo’s glossy steel boxes — I just grabbed this lil guy in an alluring cherry red.
I’ve been not-so-quietly collecting Kaweco fountain pens for some time now, but I recently made the switch to the brand’s rollerball and I’m absolutely in love. It’s so smooth and makes me feel like whatever I happen to be writing is important (because, of course, it is).
