Here’s what I’m thinking about too much these days:
I’m going all-in on craft/homesteading/doing cute things classes this fall — I’m addicted to being in some kind of class! And learning new practical skills, my god. I have either signed up for or have my eye on so many (these are happening near me, but surely the idea translates for your region!) Beeswax candles! Making cordials! Kokedama! Foraging (always)! Broom making! Introduction to the Great [Spinning] Wheel! Flower arranging! I also plan to keep working on my sewing skills at my beloved Hill Institute again this fall =)
Speaking of school! Why not purchase special notebooks and devote each one to some singleminded, special pursuit? That’s my plan this fall. I have a couple go-to notebook shops (Omoi, JetPens, Hightide) but would love to hear about yours!
I don’t need any new footwear but I really want a new pair of lace-up boots! Not exactly granny, definitely not combat. This is surprisingly hard to find! Enter: these boots from Italian brand Lazzari.
I’m not immune to marketing and never claimed that I was! I’ve found myself increasingly interested in the L.L.Bean Boat and Tote (I’ve been getting ads for their new crossbody). I opted for the XL zippered tote in natural — when it comes, I will use it as a kind of vehicular stash-all, an attempt at keeping my always-unorganized car in slightly better order. I also imagine myself making huge post office runs (sending! receiving!) with this thing.
I’m about to add a classic Foley food mill to my cart (thanks for the recommendation, Emily!) so that I can honor my recent inheritance of apple, quince, and pawpaw trees. See also: this fruit picker.
Thanks for reading! Anything speak to you? Got recommendations? Hit reply; I want to hear from you (and may feature your recommendation in an upcoming newsletter!)
